Director of Institutional Effectiveness Job Description
Position Summary
The Director of Institutional Effectiveness (IE) provides structural leadership, technical management, and strategic overwatch for all educational research, systemic assessment, regional and theological accreditation, and metrics tracking workflows at Gammon Theological Seminary. This role converts unstructured student and programmatic data into actionable institutional strategies to maintain full regulatory alignment and secure long-term operational resilience.

Essential Functions
- Design, calibrate, and oversee the execution of the comprehensive institutional effectiveness program.
- Act as the lead analytical liaison between executive leadership, academic chairs, and programmatic operations.
- Direct systematic data modeling, research design, and statistical validation architectures for tracking retention, student enrollment pipelines, and graduation trends.
Annual Responsibilities
- Manage annual assessment reporting mechanisms across all operational units and academic programs.
- Prepare specialized, high-density dashboard profiles and structural intelligence briefs for the annual Board of Trustees meetings.
- Review and process institutional research protocols, course evaluations, and key performance indicators.
Accreditation Responsibilities
- Serve as the structural lead, editor, and compliance liaison for regional and national accreditation standards (SACSCOC and ATS).
- Author and maintain technical integrity for compliance portfolios, focused reports, self-studies, and substantive change document structures.
- Coordinate directly with accreditation agencies, managing timelines and site-visit operations.
Assessment Responsibilities
- Structure institutional framework models to continuously monitor educational outcomes across degree pipelines.
- Calibrate and audit direct and indirect student assessment vectors, ensuring programmatic alignment with state and national specifications.
Institutional Research Responsibilities
- Synthesize multi-tier internal datasets to isolate critical historical indicators and project long-range operational pathways.
- Design validation mechanisms to guarantee total accuracy across public registries, compliance files, and strategic data repositories.
Strategic Planning Responsibilities
- Align institutional operational parameters with the overarching strategic visions articulated by the Board and Executive Leadership.
- Construct tracking metrics to systematically gauge key performance milestone completions across all divisions.
Data and Reporting Responsibilities
- Manage the structural creation, analytical verification, and delivery of major institutional research documents, including the Institutional Effectiveness Report and Student Achievement Data Report.
- Govern data reporting lifecycles across external registries and state licensing boards.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Social Sciences, Statistics, or an allied analytical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of direct institutional research, strategic metrics tracking, and compliance management experience in an accredited higher education setting.
- Advanced technical mastery of modern higher education student information networks and learning engines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. or equivalent advanced terminal degree and a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent theological educational background, providing specialized contextual familiarity with seminary architectures.
- Proven record of guiding an active higher education framework through comprehensive SACSCOC and ATS self-study cycles.
